Passenger, part II
march 29th, 2010

A few days before the pictures in the previous blogpost were taken, I spent some time in Copenhagen, Denmark.
I arrived in the city center quite late, and began asking people in the street. “Hey my name is Sébastian, I am traveling. Do you have a sofa or a floor I could sleep on for one night? :D

This is Viviane. When I met her she was on her way to the tube station with some friends. I asked the group of people if they could host me. First they were kinda chocked (ofc), but then Viviane broke the ice and asked me a few questions about myself and my trip.
She accepted to host me. On our way to her place she made two things clear: She has Post-Traumatic-Stress-Disorder and we are not going to have sex. “Well, that’s.. ehm.. Perfect!”

My stay at Viviane’s place was a blast. We talked for hours, she offered me to take me to the museum of modern art and even to stay a few more days.

Passenger, part I
april 1st, 2010

When people ask me about the craziest thing that has happened to me while hitchhiking, I usually tell them a story about a very kind man I met on the motorway in Denmark in april 2010.

He was very excited to pick me up, I felt our encounter made his day. He drank beer while driving and told me some strong stories about his family and his friends. He was very open about his drug use, and didn’t mind me taking pictures, even pictures showing his face. That day I saw cocaine for the first time in my life.

To me, this story isn’t very crazy. But it illustrates the reason why I hitchhike and travel so much. This kind of encounter has important role in who I am today and it’s the reason why I have decided to leave my normal life to go traveling around the world a couple of times from next summer on.

From a reportage done for Universitas in november.

In November I went back to France to visit my family and some friends. These pictures are from this trip and are taken with disposable cameras. Some of these were expired, some had their lens scratched, and some were just fine.
